Intercultural relationships are relationships that are formed between individuals from different cultures. (Martin and Nakayama 2009) Intercultural relationships have played a big role in my life. From the time I went away to college in a small town in Missouri, to dating and then marrying a white woman, playing basketball overseas and living in North Dakota. I have associated with many different people from other classes, races, religions and nationality. This made my life very interesting. Living in different countries and developing life long friendships with people from other cultures has made my life richer. I encountered troubles with language at times. Had hard times adapting to food but I enjoyed all of my relationships I have formed with people from all the different cultures. The key for me was to always keep an open mind. Relational learning has been a huge part of my life.
